Producing abstract work is a big departure from Margaret Switala's paintings in finely detailed realism and surrealism. For her, the challenges of creating something provocative and meaningful through the use of colour, form and texture have initiated a journey of self exploration and reinvention.
On a rudimentary level, her work is about beauty, truth and connectivity. She is evolving from one artwork to the next. This is her abstract language. It is as much about the process itself as it is the product of her own personal voyage and exploration.
Selected Works Exhibited April 1 - 30.
