On Sunday, June 10 2018 discover our current exhibition Shit-Baby and the Crumpled Giraffeby Naufus Ramierz Figueroa and Białystok by Przemek Pyszczek through the interpretive lens of six youth.
Starting at 3pm, participants of the fifth edition of our Interpreting [Interrupting] Youth [IIY] program, Danielle Anderson, Cameron Armstrong, Jand Avila, Raven Furgeson, Danielle Sneesby and youth mentor, Crista Ordonez will present short interpretive videos produced by them in collaboration with Plug In ICA, Just TV and the Broadway Neighborhood Center.
The screening offers a visual reflection of the youth’s collective and individual experiences of Shit-Baby and the Crumpled Giraffe and Białystok and marks the culmination of an intensive four weeks of meeting, working, and thinking together about the exhibitions; and about video as an interpretive mode.
The event begins with a short reception in the gallery, from 3-3:30pm. The screening and panel discussion with IIY participants is moderated by Assistant Curator Sarah Nesbitt, and will begin at 3:30pm. Everyone welcome! Snacks and refreshments will be served. More info here.
