is a curated destination experience within a walkable area of our city, creating a community of authentic, local retail + design culture.

ERA Bistro, located in the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, celebrates Canada 150 with a menu demonstrating the different traditional tastes and local ingredients of Canada’s ten provinces and three territories. From June 18 to June 30, “The Great Canadian Tour” will feature a daily dish inspired by each Canadian province or territory. “The Great Canadian Menu”, which features ERA’s take on traditional Canadian cuisine including Poutine, Pea & Lentil Soup, and Tourtière, will be available on July 1.

Stephen Strecker, Executive Chef at ERA Bistro, says the menu not only exemplifies the diversity of Canada, but also that of his team. “Our team at ERA comes from various backgrounds and encapsulates the diversity of Canada. Our diverse staff found traditional Canadian recipes from each region, and used their culinary heritage to add their own flare.”

ERA Bistro places emphasis on locally sourced and Certified Fairtrade products. “The Great Canadian Tour” and “The Great Canadian Menu” only uses ingredients sourced from Canadian suppliers. The two-week long “Great Canadian Tour” menu also features beer, wine, and cocktails sourced from each province and territory, or created with local ingredients, to complement each offering. All entrées are $15 and drinks are $8.

“There are so many unique flavors available to us in Canada. The quality of locally supplied products also stands out.” says Stephen, “It’s not difficult to create a truly great Canadian menu with such fresh, high quality local ingredients.”

ERA is open weekdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (until 8 p.m. on Wednesdays) and weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Canada Day, it will be open until 6:30 p.m. The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is open from 10 a.m to 7 p.m on Canada Day, with admission offered at a special rate of $5 per person.
